Information on Applications for the 2026/2027 Season

The first audition for the 2026/2027 season will begin in January 2026 and will take place in two rounds. The first round will involve a remote selection based on submitted materials (including recordings). Applicants who advance to the second round will be invited to live auditions at the Latvian National Opera.

Each season, the program will admit four young vocalists from the Baltic States, with the possibility of expanding to five. Ideally, singers of different voice types will be represented, but the main admission criteria are talent and potential.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Vocalists from Latvia, Lithuania, or Estonia of any voice type are invited to apply;

  • Applicants must have completed their vocal education or be in their final semester of studies, graduating in the first half of 2026.

Program content will be structured in three modules:

  • Vocal training, interpretation, and technique;

  • Acting, movement, and stage practice;

  • Mentoring, career skills, and industry insight.

Training and practice will take place in Riga, Latvia, from September 2026 to June 2027, both individually and in groups. While the program does not grant formal academic qualifications, it provides comprehensive practical experience to prepare young singers for professional careers.

Information about applying for the 2026/2027 season will be available at the beginning of 2026. Details will be published on the program’s website www.youngbalticvoices.com, on the Latvian National Opera and Ballet website www.opera.lv, and on social media channels.
