The first participants selected for the young vocalists’ programme Elīna Garanča. Young Baltic Voices are sopranos Gunta Greisle and Paula Mihailova, and mezzo-soprano Agneta Otaņķe from Latvia, as well as tenor Nojus Vytis from Lithuania.

Elīna Garanča Opera Academy “Young Baltic Voices” Opens Applications for 2026/2027

The Latvian National Opera and Ballet announces that applications are now open for the Elīna Garanča Opera Academy programme “Young Baltic Voices” for the 2026/2027 season. Applications are accepted from 12 February to 16 March 2026.

First Baltic-Wide Young Opera Singers’ Program Established under the Patronage of Elīna Garanča

The Latvian National Opera and Ballet, in collaboration with the outstanding mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča and the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, has launched the first young opera soloists’ program in the Baltics – Elīna Garanča. Young Baltic Voices. Applications for the program will be accepted already this season, while the training process will take place in the 2026/2027 season. The program’s patroness and ambassador is the world-renowned opera singer Elīna Garanča – a vivid source of inspiration for emerging artists.

Information on Applications for the 2026/2027 Season

The first audition for the 2026/2027 season will begin in February 2026 and will take place in two rounds. The first round will involve a remote selection based on submitted materials (including recordings). Applicants who advance to the second round will be invited to live auditions at the Latvian National Opera.

Invitation to a press conference

On Tuesday, September 9, at 11:00 AM, media representatives are invited to a press conference in the Beletage Hall of the Latvian National Opera.
